James Clark, Jr Obituary, Residence Of Dalton Has Passed Away – Death – The world obits

James Clark, Jr Obituary, Death – With his loved ones by his side, Dalton resident James “Jim” Lafayette Clark, Jr. passed away on December 18, 2023. Jim was born in Dalton on February 21, 1961, to Betty Ann and Jimmy Clark. He is a Daltonian by birth.
Jim’s surviving family and friends include his beloved daughters, Molly (Joe) Young of Dalton and Lauren (Trey) Miller of Nashville.

Along with many other family members and friends, he also leaves behind his sister Beth (Jon) Rackley, nephew Colby (Chelsea) Henton, niece Meral Henton, and many others. “Granddad Jim” also leaves behind four grandchildren, Shawn, Callaway, Ward, and Worth, who were the pride and joy of his life. His happy disposition and easygoing demeanor made him the most active, engaged, and delightful grandfather there could be.

Jim graduated from Dalton High School in 1979 and went on to earn a degree from the University of Georgia in 1984. His passion for the Bulldogs never wavered, and he was eager for the fall football season to start so he could support his team. His family will recall him as “old school”—for activities like fishing, listening to classic rock music, and remembering simpler times.

Jim’s family is eternally grateful to Hamilton Medical Center, especially to Dr. Selwin Abraham of the Cardiology Department and Adam Ridley, Physician Assistant, for providing him with the excellent care he needed. First Baptist Church of Dalton will host a memorial service for Jim Clark on Thursday, December 21 at 11:00 AM. Before the service, there will be a visitation from 9:30 AM to 11 AM.
Please don’t send flowers; instead, the family would appreciate a donation to The First Foundation at First Baptist Church of Dalton in Jim’s honor.
