Early Life and Education

Paul was born on May 28, 1941, in Madison General Hospital to Delta and Clarence Linden. Growing up in Belleville, he attended Belleville High School and graduated in 1960. From a young age, Paul showed great determination and a thirst for knowledge.

Service in the US Air Force

 

Shortly after graduating from high school, Paul joined the US Air Force, embarking on a remarkable twenty-year career. He served his country with honor and distinction, rising to the rank of senior master sergeant before retiring in 1980. Paul’s dedication and commitment to his duties were evident throughout his military service.

Post-Military Career

After leaving the Air Force, Paul found a new path in the academic world. He became a program director at the prestigious Fluno Center and later worked at the University of Wisconsin School of Business in Madison. Paul’s expertise and leadership skills made a lasting impact on those he worked with, and he was highly respected in his field.

Personal Interests

Outside of his professional life, Paul had a passion for refurbishing furniture and collecting glassware. He would spend hours searching through thrift and antique stores, finding hidden treasures and giving new life to old pieces. Paul’s attention to detail and artistic eye were evident in his work.

Surviving Family Members

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine, who stood by his side throughout their 62 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter Julie (Mike) Fitzgerald, daughter Diane Linden, son John (Theresa Kazda) Linden, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Paul’s sister Rosemary Ziehli, nieces, nephews, and his devoted dog Lucy also mourn his loss. Although Paul’s parents passed away before him, their love and guidance shaped the remarkable man he became.

Paul’s memory will forever be cherished by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his family and community will continue to inspire us all.
